hurting more civilans.... what is this war in Afghanistan for? Same reason i asked what the war in Iraq was for. It's been years since 9-11. It's time to go home! Stop this endless violence. Stop sending our brothers and sister's children to useless wars!! You lied! You lied! Obama, you said you'd pull out of Iraq and you did. But you said nothing about increasing the war in Afghanistan! Now my brother's son could be killed.
You use the word transparency for every lie. You won't stand up to Bush and Cheney and the Torture Crimes!! What kind of man are you! Who are you? I ask. Are you a man of God? Then act like a man of God. And punish those who deserve punishment. Who tortured others. Your words of transparency do not hold up well in the church of God.
You shall be punished if you don't stand up for all Americans not some. And stop pocketing money from the sins of the lobbyists. The evil sins of the lobbyists. This is evil.
Are you a man of God? Or a man of evil?
You better show it. Or else. Go down. For the Lord is watching all transactions and there is no such thing as transparency with God. He sees all. He Knows all. There is No Such Thing as Transparency in the Kingdom of God.
End this War! We are killing civilians!! We are starving civilians!
Stop the lies. End this world of transparency. It does not exist. No more so than clean coal. go...then...go... if you don't believe in the kingdom of God. Then go...pocket your rolled gold from the oil and coal lobbyists and roll on out the door... with the others.... it's revolving...

As fighting between the Taliban and the Pakistani military escalated in South Waziristan, millions of people were forced to flee their homes—it was Pakistan's biggest exodus since the country's founding in 1947. The two million refugees now face a slew of severe health risks—among them, a contaminated, damaged water supply and insufficient access to health care.
We've been discussing the water crisis recently here at TreeHugger, and this tragic event highlights the importance of a sound water supply—especially in volatile regions of the world. Without access to safe water and no choice but to live in proximity to a damaged sewage system the refugees have been coming down with diarrhea, measles and respiratory infections, according to Bloomberg.
With the influx of so many people, the host communities which have taken in the refugees have seen "enormous strain" put on their health care systems. Subsequently, care has been unavailable for a great number of the refugees.
It's been discussed how water is already causing violent conflict in certain regions, and how an insufficient supply of water could lead to larger scale violence and even wars. But here we have a clear portrait of the consequences of a large group of people living with inadequate, unclean water and poor sewage infrastructure: and it's lead to the additional suffering of millions.
The UN reports that only a quarter of the requested funds have been received, and without further aid, the situation is apt to worsen. From Bloomberg's Report:
The new offensives will worsen the refugee crisis, Amnesty International said in an e-mailed statement today. “A displacement crisis the government said would last only for weeks looks set to go on for months with no relief in sight,” Sam Zarifi, Amnesty’s Asia-Pacific director, said in the statement. “To make matters worse, the vast majority of displaced people are living outside the registered camps where aid agencies” are distributing aid.
It's an often-overlooked part of the story—we see headlines about how many people were killed in a suicide bombing or about a skirmish in the war with alarming frequency. But it's far rarer we hear about the displaced people who suffer and perish in refugee camps due to environmental factors.

Dear MoveOn member,
Wow! 95% of MoveOn members participating in Monday's vote said we should move forward with a massive effort to fix the energy bill as it moves through the Senate.
So we're off and running. Next week, we'll kick off our campaign with a full-page ad in three major Capitol Hill newspapers, calling on Congress to save the Clean Air Act. Then we'll run powerful grassroots actions targeting key members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and launch a national media campaign to get the word out about the serious problems in the House bill.
We'll be working closely with progressive allies on Capitol Hill and across the country, but to win we'll need your support at every step of the way. And first, we need to raise $100,000 this week to kick off the campaign. Can you chip in $20?
Move On
Here's what the landscape looks like in the Senate:
Just like in the House, conservative Democrats are already fighting hard to make sure this bill protects the interests of Big Oil and Coal. In fact, they're pushing to weaken the legislation even more than their colleagues in the House already did.
In the next few weeks, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will take up work on their own version of the energy bill. Many members of the committee, including Chairwoman Barbara Boxer, are supporters of clean energy—but they'll be under tremendous pressure to preserve the worst provisions of the House bill, especially the one rolling back a key provision in the Clean Air Act.
That's where our campaign comes in, creating a grassroots groundswell to save the Clean Air Act and pass a strong bill that'll move America to a clean energy economy.
It'll take all of us working together, which is why we're so grateful to have your support—and that of so many other MoveOn members who voted to move forward. So thanks, as always, for all you do.
–Justin, Matt, Carrie, Michael and the rest of the team
Want to support our work? We're entirely funded by our 5 million members—no corporate contributions, no big checks from CEOs. And our tiny staff ensures that small contributions go a long way. Chip in here.
